Creator Bio:
Growing up middle of nowhere in Nova Scotia Canada for 35+ years, I spent my days farming, hunting and fishing while raising 2 children. Winters were cold and long, summer's short. We heavily relied on wood fire for survival. It is here where my love started for fire and food.
My Mother's kitchen being my favorite place in the world, she taught me everything I know. I still remember the wonderful aromas as she stirred huge pots on the wood stove. Growing up with all boys I'm proud to say I'm pretty good with a gun, traps and snares and have a deep love and respect of wild game.
I'm old school, and although I have developed many of my own cooking techniques I have a deep connection to low and slow cooking methods. Cosmetologist by trade now Chef by heart.
In 2011 I gave up the freezing cold and everything I ever knew. I became an empty nester, felt lost, wanted an adventure... and for someone who never flown in her life, I packed 2 suitcases, sold my life accumulations and moved South of the border! Married and settled deep in the heart of Texas where I now spend my days manipulating fire, working with tasteful seasonings and infusing delicious flavor profiles that add a rich depth of uniqueness to my culinary creations.
